Brooke takes 1st Place at the Stanford Invitational!

Brooke had a great race at Stanford! All of the girls that she will be competing for the section title were there. Brooke was so focused and determined to win! She ran a strong, smart and fast paced race. She ran with the pack of girls from her section until about half way through the race when she took off from the pack, and chased down the 2 girls from Ignacia high school, who were leading most of the race. She finally took the lead down the last stretch and finished strong with a time of 18:30. It was a good day!

Nurse Allie!

Oops!! Allie forgot to take the traditional 1st Day of School picture, so I found this picture on her Facebook profile and downloaded it! I think I love it more than any 1st Day of School picture that I could have taken! Allie is awesome and she is going to be the best nurse ever!!

The Duffey's visit Kimber in NYC!

Our dear friends, the Duffey's, visited Kimber while they were in NYC last Saturday! Tim and Karen and their family were some of are favorite neighbors when we lived at Weddington Circle. How I still miss those days and that great neighborhood and our dear friends! Fortunately, we didn't move far and we still keep in close touch with those wonderful neighbors...and their kids! Karen called a couple weeks ago and said that she was heading to NYC. So I gave her my favorite map of the city and Kimber gave her a list of fun things to do and see in NYC! Karen insisted that they had to see Kimber while they were there. So, on Saturday, while we were enjoying the BYU/UCLA game, I got a text from Karen with the picture below of Kimber and Molly Duffey that said, " Hi there! We are here with Kimber in Central enjoying her." My reply back was, "I'm jealous!!" Seriously, I wish I could have been there enjoying the day with some of my favorite WOW! (Women of Weddington!) Now that our daughters, Kimber and Molly are all grown up, I guess they can be official members of our club:)!

B is for Brooke! B is for Bear! And B is for Breaking personal records!

It was the 1st league meet of the year. Brooke had raced this course many times and her best time was 19:10. Her goal for this race was to win (of course!) and break 19:00. She ran a strong race and got 18:26!! Not bad for the first league meet!!Mom and Brooke celebrating together!
Brooke, and her teammates, Annie and Christine!
Brooke's friend, Anne Barton came to cheer her on!
Brooke on the phone to Dad right after the race! She was so happy that they both were crying! So cute!

The BYU Cougars Crush UCLA! BYU 59-UCLA 0!!

Saturday was definitely one of the biggest blowouts that I remember since the Steve Young/Jim McMahon years when I was at BYU! I have to felt good! After all the talk about how BYU didn't deserve the win against Washington last week because of the refs bad call and BYU dropping in the polls despite the win, I think BYU came out and wanted to prove that they can play with the big boys in the PAC 10! Although, I don't think they played with them...I think the beat them up! Ouch!

I especially enjoyed the rout because then I could sit back and relax about the game and just concentrate on visiting and catching up with our dear friends, the Clarks! We have known Patti and Francis for 24 years, since our days in San Francisco. We have shared our love for BYU and more importantly Cougar football all these years. I can remember going to the church building with the Clark's and Silvester's, and dragging the Smith's (our beloved Utah State fans!) to watch the BYU games via satellite. It was a great way to spend a Saturday in the old days! After all these years, we remain close friends and avid BYU fans...and I still can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday with dear friends watching BYU football!
Tyler and Allie ready to celebrate after the game!
Patti and Debbie at the end of the game with their sunburned faces!
Francis and Mark stop cheering for a moment to take a picture!
We ran into two of my Young Women, Danielle and Jessica and their mom, Colleen at the game!
Dad showing some Cougar spirit, hung his Y banner outside our balcony at Vintage in Park City!

New York! New York!

Oops!! We had such a busy summer that I forgot to post our pictures from our trip to New York City! I know that it is out of order, but I didn't want to skip over all the fun that we had in the city with Brett and Kimber! What an incredible much to see and do! And thanks Brett and Kimber, for being our wonderful tour guides! We had so much fun that we are already planning our trip to New York for next summer!

One of the highlights of the trip was going to the Manhattan Temple! It was such a sweet experience to be together in the temple with our family...a little heaven on earth!
