Spring Break 2012

We were so glad that Tyler and Sonya came out to Utah for Spring Break
and hung out with us last week in Park City!
We spent most of the break skiing, eating and visiting with family and friends!
Allie came up on Saturday and joined Dad on the chairlift!
Dad sure loves skiing with his kids!
And Allie sure loves skiing with her fellow Oklahomans!
The girls had a fun day together!
Allie and Dad are ready to head home at the end of the day!
After another wonderful day of skiing, we are ready to ski down Doc's Run!
That night we went to Cisero's, one of our favorite restaurants on Main Street.
Tyler and Sonya ordered a smoothie!  Yum!
 Brooke ordered the minestrone soup.
 Mom and Dad
Allie and Justin
No one was more excited than Dad and Tyler that it snowed on Sunday, all day and night!
We woke up to 16" of fresh snow, early Monday morning.
Sonya and I signed up for ski lessons or should we say, our husbands signed us up.
Both of us wanted a lesson but we teased the boys that they pawned us off
so that they could have a father/son bonding morning up on the ski slopes with all that powder!
The photo above is Mark heading out to do some early morning powder skiing with!
The fresh snow is flying off Tyler's skis!
Tyler is a little excited about all the powder on Magic Lines off 9990!
Tyler skiing down 9990!
Dad is loving the fresh powder!
Tyler in knee deep powder!
More knee deep powder!
And the last deep powder photo of Tyler!
Now it's Dad's turn.
Some said it was the best day of the season.
Dad and Tyler would agree!
After lunch, Sonya is ready to show Tyler what she learned in her lesson.
And Dad is ready to see what I learned in my powder lesson.
I'm not sure if I learned anything at all, but I had fun
and skied some runs down Peak 5 that I had never skied before so it was totally worth it!
So cute!
Riding the chairlift up at the end of a fun day!
The clouds cleared and blue sky appeared at the end of the day,
which made for a beautiful background for a photo.
Sonya was skiing so well that she challenged Tyler on a race down Doc's Run
and she guess what... she was the first one down the hill!
What a fun day!  Plenty of powder and gorgeous blue skies!
A happy group of skiers!
Tyler and Sonya are enjoying the sun at "the beach"
at the base of the mountain on Tuesday morning.
Taking the bubble chair up the hill on a beautiful sunny Tuesday morning.
Tyler and Dad decided to hike Murdock's Peak, which is the mountain which is  behind them in this photo.
The black spots on the mountain are from all of the dynamite blasts
that ski patrol set off to avoid avalanches on the mountain.
Dad and Tyler hiked for about 20 minutes up the mountain before they made it to the top!
Yes, that is them at the top of the peak with their skis!
Dad coming down the hill.
Tyler skiing the powder on Murdock's.
Dad and Tyler conquered Murdock's Peak together!
The views from the chairlift was absolutely gorgeous
with all the snow resting on the limbs of the trees.
So pretty that I had to take a photo...
or two of some of my favorite ski buddies
with the freshly fallen snow in the background.
And the snow sitting on the empty limbs of the Aspen trees
 made for another gorgeous background,
which required Dad to stop for another photo.
After enjoying a yummy lunch at CloudDine,
we skied past all the beautiful homes in The Colony, back to our place at Vintage.
We took Tyler and Sonya to Chimayo on Main Street because they had never been there before and
we wanted to celebrate that they are almost finished with the first half of dental school.
2 almost down and 2 to go!!!
Tyler loved the Queso Fresco Encrusted Filet Mignon
and Sonya ordered the Stuffed Chicken Breast "Nachos Grande Style" and loved them too.
And I ordered the Herb and Chili Chimichurri Salmon and it was unbelievable!
We had such a fun week with these two.
Tyler took Sonya down The Pines, which is a black diamond ski run,
and she skied down that mogul run with no problem at all!
Brooke came up on Friday to hang out with Dad,
while I went down to Provo to take care of my sister, Mary Ann's little girls.
It was a fun daddy/daughter date for these two!
Tyler's former roommates and good friend, Eric Smith and Mark Crandall
came into town to ski with him.
It was a very warm day so after Brooke's great pond skimming exhibition,
we enjoyed a delicious lunch outside at the base of Tombstone!
The BBQ brisket was delicious!
And of course, I had to get a good photo of these three good friends!
So glad Mark and Eric could join us in Park City!
What a great way to end a great week of skiing and Spring Break fun!

Breakfast with Mitt and Ann!

This morning, my dear friend Pam Peterson and I went to a breakfast
with Mitt and Ann Romney at the Spanos Villa Angelica residence.
I love this picture of Mitt and Ann!
The thing that I love the most is the way Mitt is looking at her!  So cute!
She was adorable as she spoke to the large crowd of 500 people!
Mitt 2012!!!
Here is Ann, looking adoringly at Mitt!
Mitt spoke for over 20 minutes without any notes or a telepromptor.
He didn't miss a beat, covering the economy, health care and foreign policies.
Sharing his views, ideas and philosophy about government and it's role in our lives.
He is so bright and charismatic, but so inspiring as he shared his love for our country.
And Mitt looking adoringly at Ann!
Greeting people on his way out the door.
After the breakfast was over, Pam and I walked the grounds of the residence.
It was seriously so gorgeous!
Check out this outdoor BBQ facilities!
You could throw quite the party here!
There was a moat that circled the whole property.
It was a fun morning, spending time with Pam at the breakfast with Mitt & Ann Romney!
