While Dad and Brooke were in Kentucky, I was in Provo watching BYU beat Hawaii with Dale and Debbie Merrill.
Doesn't that Debbie have the prettiest blue eyes ever?!!
Doesn't that Debbie have the prettiest blue eyes ever?!!
It was a great game and the weather was incredible!
These two cute kids came over and sat with us during the 2nd half of the game.
And then Ashley came to the game after her Howell fundraiser to cheer her Cougars on to victory!
Nothing better than watching a BYU win with some of my favorite Cougar fans!
Saturday night we went to Red Rock Grill with the kids,
then we headed to the airport to pick up Brooke and Dad.
The next morning, we woke up to a phone call from my sister, Elizabeth,
who told us that my sweet mother had passed away that morning.
We spent a somber but sweet Sunday together in Park City,
grieving and comforting each other and,
busy making travel arrangements for the all family to attend the funeral.
As much as you plan and prepare,
you are never quite ready to get that phone call that tells you that your mother is gone.
All I can say is that I'm grateful for a sweet husband and darling children.
I felt their incredible love and support throughout the week.
As Brooke was driving us to the airport that evening,
we were discussing how grateful we are for the plan of salvation,
and how happy Grandma must be, her mind thinking clearly once again,
freed from Alzhiemers, the disease that had taken over her personality.
Now she is reunited with her parents and siblings. Surely she must be smiling down on us.
Dad turned and said, "I imagine that Grandma Olson is up there in Heaven right now with "Baby C"
telling her all about the sweet family that she will be joining soon."
What a beautiful thought... and that made us all smile.
